In 2018-19, we proudly launched our specialized skill training program, "Bee Keeper" with the financial support of the Agricultural Skill Council of India (ASCI), New Delhi. This initiative saw 20 participants from Coimbatore gain hands-on training in scientific beekeeping methods. We covered critical topics, including colony management, pest and disease management, honey harvesting, and processing techniques. This program not only empowered individuals but also aimed to enhance the local economy through beekeeping.

Our pioneering spirit is embodied by Mr. Manikandan, a leading farmer from Nallampalayam village, whose dedication to agriculture began in his childhood. With guidance from our Krishi Vigyan Kendra Coimbatore, Mr. Manikandan established the Marutham Bee Farm as a training and practicing center for students, research scholars, and budding beekeepers. His relentless pursuit of knowledge has led to the development of 5 to 10 bee colonies for breeding and training purposes, which has made a significant impact in the region.

Our training programs have significantly impacted the community, with over 482 participants attending our workshops on bee management and pest control. Mr. Manikandan has also acted as a resource person for beekeeping training, recognized as a master trainer by our Kendra and as a progressive beekeeper by TNAU in the Department of Agricultural Entomology. His involvement in the Tamil Nadu Beekeepers Association and various agricultural fairs has further established Marutham Honeybee Farm as a leader in beekeeping education.

Through our initiatives, we have generated additional income, amounting to Rs. 2,95,600, while also creating employment for local laborers. Our training sessions not only uplift individuals but also foster community development through knowledge sharing and collaboration.
